Patt & Stacy are hopeful adoptive parents from South Carolina waiting to adopt a baby.  If you are pregnant and considering adoption for your child, please read their Dear Birthmother letter and profile.

Dear Birthmother:

We would like to thank you for taking the time to consider us as adoptive parents for your baby.  We are both on a journey of sorts…you to find a family for your child, and us to find a child to make our family complete.  This profile has been created to give you a glimpse into our lives so that you can learn more about us.

We understand that the decision you are about to make is one that must be very hard for you.  Please know that we cannot begin to put ourselves in your shoes, but welcome the chance to become adoptive parents to your child.  Over the past 6 years, we have tried to conceive a child.  We have experienced one miscarriage at 11 weeks and the stillbirth of our son, McCrae, at 32 weeks.  The journey to become parents has not been an easy one for us.  After many disappointments and lots of thought and prayer, we feel that becoming adoptive parents is the path that we are meant to be on.

We would be overjoyed to become the adoptive parents to your child.  We respect you and the decision you are making for your child.  You are giving us the chance of a lifetime and the greatest gift of all should you choose us.

Who We Are:

We have been happily married for over 15 years.  Our journey began when we met in college.  We were both sophomores when we became friends and began dating the summer before our senior year.  Our relationship bloomed and we became engaged right before graduation.  In November of 1994, we were married and our life started together.  On when they fell in love, Patt says: “Stacy was pretty, smart, nice, friendly and industrious.  She was already a good friend.”  Stacy says: “Patt was a caring person who accepts people unconditionally, intelligent, highly motivated to go ‘above and beyond’ and good with finances.”

Our cat, Hershey, has been a member of our family for 13 years.  He is a very affectionate cat who loves to play in boxes! Our dog, Magnolia (although we call her Maggie for short), has been a member of our family for 11 years.  She enjoys sleeping, playing outside and chasing Hershey.

Patt is a scientist with a local company.  He was promoted to a principal position in less than 2 years.  He enjoys his work.  Stacy loves children and teaches first grade at a nearby elementary school.  After taking maternity leave, she will have the afternoons to be at home with a child when the school day ends.

Our Interests:

We share many common interests.  One of our favorite things to do is travel!  We enjoy seeing new places and discovering new things.  Each year, we head to the beach to relax and enjoy the water.  We also enjoy heading to the mountains to play in the snow.  When we are not traveling, we enjoy spending time at home with our family and friends.  We are both avid readers.  We also enjoy a high-tech treasure hunt game called “Geocoaching” and combine this with our travel vacations.  We are also both involved with various charitable fund raising events.

Stacy enjoys sewing, watching movies and cooking.  She is also involved with the nursery at their church.  Patt is enthusiastic about family history research.  He and Maggie participate in events with a local dog club.  He is also involved with several committees at their church.

Our Family:

Stacy is the younger of two children and has an older brother.  Her parents are still married.  Stacy’s parents, as well as her brother and his family, all live in Stacy’s hometown, which is just a couple of hours away.  She is able to visit them often.
Patt is the older of two children and has a younger brother.  Patt’s parents are also still married.  Patt lives in his hometown with his immediate family and extended family, so he sees them on a regular basis.

Our Home:

We live in a quiet, safe subdivision in a two-story home on a cul-de-sac.  Our home has four bedrooms and three and half bathrooms.  We have already painted one of the bedrooms a happy shade of green for the nursery.  We have a screened-in porch and large deck overlooking our 3-acre lot, where there is plenty of room for a growing child’s developmental play.  We share a pond with our neighbors.  We are close to schools, medical facilities and churches.

Religion:  Christian
