Jamey & Brooke are hopeful adoptive parents from South Carolina waiting to adopt a baby. If you are pregnant and considering adoption for your child, please read their Dear Birthmother letter and profile.

Dear Birthmother:

It is hard to know the right things to say and where to begin with this most important letter. But, we want YOU to know that we are speaking truly from our hearts. At this moment, you are the most important person in our lives, and your selflessness is our only hope to become the parents that we so desire to be. Though we do not know you, we admire you – both for your bravery and courage to seek what is best for your baby. Being chosen to raise your child is the greatest of blessings that we could ever receive, and we will cherish this gift so much.

As we reflect on our journey to become parents, we know the trials we have been through, such as failed fertility treatments and years of waiting to bring a child home, are all part of God’s plan. Though we may not fully understand what His plan is, we have faith that He has brought us together for a purpose.

We love each other with all of our hearts, and we have so much love to share with a child of our own. Our love is strengthened by the love and support of our families, with whom we are very close. Please know that your baby will be loved and cherished so much, and will be raised in a supportive and caring environment.

We thank you again for your courage, and for considering us as the proud and honored parents of your special child. We are blessed to have the opportunity to introduce ourselves to you through our profile, and we hope to meet you in person on day soon!

Who We Are:

We met at work and we both knew there was something very special there on our first date. We dated for a little over a year and have now been happily married for over 11 years. Jamey says the characteristics he admires most about his wife are her big heart, reliability, honesty and being a good listener. Brooke admires Jamey for his wit, and his dependable and caring nature.

We not only love each other, but we trust and respect each other. Our inability to have children was painful, but at the same time made us more aware of our desire to be parents. We have a sound marriage that will be enriched by adopting a child.

We grew up in Christian homes and we strongly believe that we should treat others fairly and with kindness and respect. We do not try to change each other, but are receptive to each other’s concerns, needs and hopes. We continue to have the strong Christian beliefs that we grew up with and will raise our child in a home with good sound values. We will provide a nurturing, stable and loving home for our child.

Jamey has worked in accounting for the same company for almost 20 years. His employer is very “family friendly” and will be given plenty of leave time. Brooke is employed as a purchasing administrator for a local government contractor for the past several years. Brooke plans to leave her job when the baby is born and become a stay-at-home mom, like the home she grew up in.

Our Interests:

We share many common hobbies and interests. We enjoy taking our boat out on the weekend and exploring the area. We love theme parks and try to go to one, or at least the fair, every year. We celebrated our honeymoon with a trip to Disney World, and we cannot wait to take our child there on a return trip. We are truly kids at heart.

We also enjoy hiking and playing putt-putt. We love to travel. Spending time with our extended families is important to us. We are both active in our church and Brooke frequently teaches Bible class to 4 and 5 year olds.

Our Family:

Jamey has one younger brother that lives in the same neighboring state as his parents. He is close with his large, extended family. Jamey’s parents are still married and visit often. Brooke has one younger sister that lives just around the corner from them. Brooke also has a large extended family with whom she is close. Brooke’s parents are also still married and live nearby, so they are able to visit often as well.

Our family also includes our pets. We adopted our yellow lab from a local animal shelter and named her Annie because we got her on our 2nd wedding anniversary. Our cat Cobbie was a stray who adopted us. Annie and Cobbie are very well behaved and get along with each other.

Our Home:

We live in a small, rural town on the outskirts of a large city. Our home has 2 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms, one of which has been recently painted and is ready to become the nursery. We have two decks and live on a large, wooded lot. Our neighborhood has many couples with young children and there is a nearby park and playground (complete with a train!) that we helped to build. Brooke’s parents live close-by and they have a dock in their back yard that is great for fishing and crabbing. Schools, churches, libraries and medical facilities are within a twenty minute drive. The beaches are also nearby.

Religion:   Christian
